About Split PDF

Split PDF lets you extract specific pages from a PDF or break a long document into smaller files. Pull out a single contract clause, separate every chapter into its own PDF, or grab just the pages you need to email — without having to print or re-scan anything. The original document is never modified, and nothing is uploaded.

How to use Split PDF

  1. 1

Upload the PDF you want to split by dragging it in or clicking ‘Choose file’.

  2. 2

Enter the page ranges you want, for example 1-3, 5, 8-10. Each comma-separated group becomes its own output file.

  3. 3

Click ‘Split PDF’ and your new files will download to your computer instantly.

  4. 4

Open the downloaded files to verify the pages, then delete the originals if you no longer need them.

Frequently asked questions

How do I select pages to extract?+

Type page numbers separated by commas, and use a hyphen for ranges. For example, ‘1-3, 5, 8-10’ produces three separate PDF files.

Can I split a password-protected PDF?+

If the PDF requires a password to open, you’ll need to remove the password first. Encrypted files cannot be parsed in the browser.

Does splitting reduce the quality of my PDF?+

No. Each page is copied losslessly, so text remains selectable and images keep their original resolution.

Is there a limit on file size?+

Splitting runs locally, so the limit is whatever your browser can hold in memory — typically several hundred megabytes on modern devices.
