Frequently asked questions
Will the layout be preserved exactly?+
Text and paragraph order are preserved. Complex multi-column layouts, embedded images and tables may need light cleanup once you open the document in Word.
Does it work on scanned PDFs?+
Scanned PDFs contain images of text, not real text, so only image-based pages won’t convert. Run them through our OCR PDF tool first to make the text selectable, then convert to Word.
Are my PDFs uploaded to a server?+
No. Conversion happens entirely in your browser using PDF.js and the docx library. Your file stays on your device.
What format is the output?+
A standard .docx Word document, which opens in Microsoft Word, Google Docs, Apple Pages, LibreOffice and most other word processors.
